New PNP Dir. Gen. Jesus Versoza On Human Rights
The Philippine National Police (PNP) Dir. Gen. Jesus Verzosa issued a memorandum today to warned all 125,000 police force to avoid presentation of suspects to media. He called it “firing squad presentation”. According to the memorandum, violators will be meted with administrative sanctions.
The memorandum answered the request of Human Rights Commission to stop presenting a suspect before the media since it constitutes a violation of the person’s constitutional rights.
Its a common scene in TV news, suspects are wearing prison shirt when presented to media. When it was started, I didn’t recall. As far as I know, its pogi points to “somebody” who caught the suspect and/or who lead the capture of the suspects. Its sort of a “medal” of their sort of “accomplishment”.

Oct 1-Feast Of Ramadan, A Holiday
It was announced today by Executive Secretary Eduardo that on October 1, 2008 is a non working holiday in celebration of Eid’l Fitr (Feast of Ramadhan).
It is a Wednesday and not included in holiday economics. It is included in proclamation 1625 signed by Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita last September 19, 2008.
“In order to bring the religious and cultural significance of Eid’l Fitr to the fore of national consciousness, it is necessary to declare Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008, as a regular holiday throughout the country,” according to Proclamation 1625.
Our filipino muslim brothers will be happy on the good news. Even if we have present MILF problem, the muslim community can have their holy celebration in peace.
Lobo, Almost Blood And Chocolate… Coincidence?
I was resting and watched Star movies, just in time because the movie have had started. It was titled “Blood and Chocolate”, its about clan of werewolves in Romania. The movie was released in US in January 26, 2007 and wasn’t shown here. You could check on the plot here but I suggest to buy a DVD/VCD in the nearest mall. It may be on sale because it wasn’t released here or check the schedules of Star Movies.
My sister came and watched with me, I have nothing against the movie but my sister also noticed the similarity of the movie to ABS CBN’s fantaserye Lobo (filipino word of wolf) starring Angel Locsin and Piolo Pascual except Lobo in my opinion is a lot better with many twists. We did watched the teleserye every night and amazed with the “unique story”. What scene in Lobo you remember the most? hmmn… when Angel Locsin transforming from human to werewolf, she will jump (or leap?) as she runs, she will glow and when she reach the ground she was already a werewolf… Read more…
