Oct 1-Feast Of Ramadan, A Holiday

It was announced today by Executive Secretary Eduardo that on October 1, 2008 is a non working holiday in celebration of Eid’l Fitr (Feast of Ramadhan).

It is a Wednesday and not included in holiday economics. It is included in proclamation 1625 signed by Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita last September 19, 2008.

In order to bring the religious and cultural significance of Eid’l Fitr to the fore of national consciousness, it is necessary to declare Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008, as a regular holiday throughout the country,” according to Proclamation 1625.

Our filipino muslim brothers will be happy on the good news. Even if we have present MILF problem, the muslim community can have their holy celebration in peace.
