Who Can Comment, Blogspot?
This blog is used to be on blogspot but same with my other blog, all comments are moderated. I have nothing against blogspot. I noticed that there are some bloggers are too strict on “who can comment?” on their blog. I found it odd when they are inviting readers to comment on their post.
What if the reader doesn’t have a blogspot/blogger/google account? Sad to say, I got turned off if I still have to login just to comment on the post. Its ok if comments are moderated but they should realize that readers/co-bloggers also have precious time.
The image above is the settings for my “Who can comment?”. Anyway, comments are moderated. What about “Show word for verification?”, some call it as “anti-spam”, it’s a no-no for me from the start. Please set it to no. Don’t limit your blog to blogger/blogspot commentators, in the long run, you will see the difference.

Well, feel free to come over and comment! I not only will let anyone comment and won’t make you do word verification, (which I also hate!) but I also figured out how to do inline comments! No little bitty comment box!

yeah, It’s a turn off for me too, most especially if I really liked the post and when I click on comment, it turns out that you can’t. Usually I mail or send a message to the person if I know them, but that’s too much of a hassle. We don’t have all day to just visit and concentrate one blog and wait til they allow us to comment, and it’s more of a hassle having to signup for an unwanted account just to be able to comment. So it’s really a no-no.

I hate when people only allow registered users of blogspot to comment, i’m a registered user, but come on. open it up. i let anyone comment, no restrictions, if i don’t like the comment or it’s spam, very rare, i delete it…and what if i don’t want to use my blogger profile.

Alex, I don’t know what happened but I saw you on my inbox.
Natural, I hope they will realize that. Its easy for them commenting to other blogs especially if the blog is on blogspot. Its not easy for us. I even forgot my google account password.

It is a pain, these long word verifications.I have assigned permissions where anyone can leave a message but I do moderate them before they show up.I’m spamophobic

i encountered that problem several time. I can use my google account but the thing is that account is for private use.
And for word verification, sometimes I have trouble to identify the words written xD
