Club Paradise In Coron, Palawan

I love nature... I love beach... I love the feeling of sand on my feet, walking and smell the sea breeze. Whew! Its summer again in the Philippines, school vacation and most family will take their vacation. I've been to Club Paradise in Coron, Palawan last year. Too bad that I'm active to moblog and not to "real" blogging. It didn't cross my mind that someday, I'll be needing more pictures to show the world the beauty of Palawan.

A mere 60 minutes by plane southwest from Manila, and another 60 minutes ride by land and by sea is the 19-hectare island of Dimakya, home to Club Paradise. This island resort, blessed with 700 meters stretch of sun kissed talcum soft white beach and turqoise waters, serves as a sanctuary to a wide array of unique flora and fauna. - taken from Club Paradise website
We took the Asian Spirit flight, from Manila to Busuanga (Coron). Their price are much better compared to other airlines and they have once a day, 5 days a week Manila - Busuanga -Manila flight. There is also a Php 200.00 terminal fee to pay in Manila, a Php 10.00 terminal fee at Busuanga, and a Php 150.00 charge for ground transportation, via jeepney, from the Busuanga airport into Coron town.
This was the picture I've taken when we were on the ferry before we land at Dimakya Island. Its really a paradise even looking from afar, no wonder they named it "Club Paradise". My sister in law invited us there, actually, she wanted to visit Amanpulo, the most expensive resort in the Philippines. Food and accomodation at Club Paradise is not cheap and in dollar rates but its really worth the single centavo. My youngest son even told me that he wants to live there and don't want to go home. The Club Paradise Restaurant offers sumptous Filipino, Asian and International Cuisine usually served buffet style.

If you've been to Boracay, the first thing you will notice is the sand. They're almost the same, fine and white sand. The only difference is... you can't walk barefooted on Palawan sand at noon when the sun is high. Sand in Boracay is always cold.

See the evidence? They never get tired. We've just finished swimming, dressed already and waiting for dinner at 7pm but insisted on playing on the sand. LOL

We've stayed at Seaview Deluxe Cottage fronting the Sunrise beach and you can see "Islang Walang Lang-Aw", a small beautiful island and a romantic getaway. The water current of the beach in our place is not ideal for swimming but a good place to explore. From the cottage via wooden bridge is the best place to snorkle, delight your eyes with beautiful underwater sea creatures, see Nemo in action. After seeing the map, I just learned now that the area is prohibited from swimming and snorkling, it is the protected area for dugong.

Click here to view Dimakya Island's map. Calauit Island Wildlife Sanctuary is a boat away from the island. How come I didn't know that? There are many activities you can explore at Club Paradise... billiards, table tennis and dart boards are available at the club house at noon time. I got excited when I saw James Patterson's picture at the club house' bulletin board, he's my favorite author. He was there few years ago. Sayang!

If you don't want to miss any news back home or office, make sure that you are using smart sim. My cellphone is useless with globe simcard in the island. You can buy a smart sim at Aqua Sports Center for php 300.

I'm hoping someday that I could come back and explore more places in Palawan. I don't want to be a tourist in my own country.

"Only the truth, not lies and deceits will set our country free. This truth challenges us now to communal action. - Juan 8:32"

"The truth is our Perpetual Help."

On the occasion of the 22nd Anniversary of Edsa People Power Revolution, I've attended "Misa Para Sa Katotohanan" held in Our Lady of Perpetual Help church in Baclaran. I was there early before the mass started, many people were there already. Some of them looks like that they came from different places or they belong to the rallyists. Streamers were everywhere indicating their anguish with the present government. Overall, there were many private individuals including me.

Its totally different from the usual mass I've attended here, I can't compare it to novena mass every Wednesday either. Security is impressive, some gates were closed and people are not allowed to come near the altar where Jun Lozada and President Cory Aquino were sitted. The choir sang different church songs intended for the occasion. People clapped their hands when Fr. Joseph mentioned the presence of Jun Lozada and President Corazon Aquino. Fr. Joseph also stressed what happened during the Edsa Revolution, that it shouldn't be forgotten especially now. We shouldn't kept our silence to the government's anomalies and corruption. The message was very well said. Where are we now?

*The last four pictures were taken by JC. Thanks.

As I woke up, I saw and watch part of the Oscar Awards' Live Telecast in the Philippines. Although I love watching movies, I'm not really interested with Oscar Awards or any movie awards. Today is the 22th Anniversary of Edsa Revolution and a non working holiday. A good timing for those who want to stay at home and watch the Oscar Awards night in Hollywood.

It just so happen that to commemorate the People Power Revolution, cause oriented groups in Cebu will be having their "Okray" Awards for corrupt Government Officials. "Okray" is a popular Filipino slang word which roughly means to demean or criticize.

The nominees for...

The "Best Corruptor/Corruptress" award - President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, Former Presidents Joseph Estrada and Fidel Ramos.

The "Best Corrupter" award - former Commission on Election Chairman Benjamin Abalos Sr., Maguindanao election officer Lintang Bedol and former election commissioner Virgilio Garcillano.
The "Bootlickers" award - House Speaker Prospero Nograles, Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye, Philippine National Police Director General Avelino Razon and Presidential Management Staff head Cerge Remonde.

The "Missing Link" special award - former National Economic and Development Authority (Neda) and now Commission on Higher Education (Ched) chairman Romulo Neri.

"Star of the Year" awards - ZTE-NBN deal star witness Rodolfo "Noel" Jun Lozada Jr. and "Hello, Garci" controversy witness Vidal Doble.

The award goes to...

Priorities always comes first and made me impossible to update my blog but there's no way that I will not make a post regarding the 22th Anniversary of Edsa Revolution. Something odd with my title? Nah...

22 years ago, February 25, 1986, President Ferdinand Marcos was ousted by People's Power on his 20th year regime. The majority of the demonstrations took place at Epifanio de los Santos Avenue, better known as EDSA, involving over 200,000 Filipinos which later on became 1 to 3 million Filipinos. The revolution occurred from February 22 to 25 in 1986. That was "first" Edsa Revolution. February as the 2nd month of the year. This year 2008 marks the 22th year anniversary.

The Edsa Revolution 2, also called as EDSA Dos or Edsa II happened in 2001 also made the People Power overthrew President Joseph Ejecito Estrada involving him with the Jose Velarde case. He was succeeded by then Vice President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

There are 2 Presidents removed in their presidential position by the people power, President Marcos and President Estrada. Based on GMA's past strategies, she almost imposed "martial law" and that made her the 2nd President/Dictator. I don't think that there will be another Edsa Revolution despite the present political situation we have now. Most Filipinos support and believe that Jun Lozada is telling the truth about the ZTE Broadband Deal involving the First Gentleman Mike Arroyo and other political figures of corruption. People are sick and tired of GMA Government. She should resign now and let the people decide in a Snap Election. But please... no to "trapo" and "rigodon".

Where are we now after 22 years? What kind of future our kids will have? Think about it.

As I've blog hopping, aside from the other observation I've already blogged about entrecard. I've noticed that there are a lot of copy bloggers. Sometimes, same picture or image in the blog, even the typographical error of the article were copied.

They knew that they were guilty of plagiarism but they still insist their article is original. Duh! They are using entrecard to blog hop and find a possible article to be copied. As you blog hop with entrecard, please do check on the contents before dropping your card, you might be surprised that you have a duplicate article on someone's blog. With or without permission, nobody wants a duplicate content of their article.

Two or three heads are better than one? I don't think it is the appropriate phrase on blogging. Does it mean that you are rephrasing and/or combining two or more articles to make a better article? You can do better than that. There's no right or wrong on your blog, its your blog. Other bloggers can comment anyway.

My right click protection provided by whozontop lessen the risk of copying my contents though I know that there are other ways if they really want to copy them. Well, at least, it lessen the risk. There's nothing to debate if the blogosphere's "hotshots" are not using it, its their choice.

Copyblogging is not a fad, its a virus as old as the internet. We cannot avoid it but we have to protect our intellectual property. I've read somewhere (sorry, I didn't bookmark it) that the blog can be banned or the adsense account can be cancelled. Will you take the risk, dude?

SM Mall Of Asia is a stone away from my house. I had a busy schedule the whole day and time didn't permitted me to confirm the 3rd World Pyro Olympics on the net. I rushed home from a meeting to fetched my kids and we went to SM Mall of Asia. Hmmn... something odd... something unusual... with the event like World Pyro Olympics, there should be a traffic on the way there.

After getting to Esplanade, the crowd is the usual weekend crowd. It didn't looked like... OMG! My kids are excited to watch the pyro olympics. I asked the security guard there and he told me that they weren't advise of the new schedule. What? New schedule? That means, it was rescheduled.

    Entrecard For Dummies

This page is the compilation of my entrecard articles and will be updated as much as possible. I just feel that I'm interested to post more articles regarding my favorite social network. My main objective is to share my Entrecard experiences to new members. I hope that they will learn something from what I've observed. Let the pinoy community continues to grow and make the world of blogosphere with entrecard benefited most of pinoys.

Monetizing our blog is not possible without the help of social networks such as Entrecard. How can anyone earn from their blog if they don't have traffic they need? More traffic means better income. Who doesn't want to earn while blogging? I'm not talking like a real expert here, they're just my dummy's point of view.

    Pinoy Entrecard Meme

I've been participating to MEMEs for quite a while and this is my first time that I want to revised it a little. I'll be tagging most of the pinoy entrecard users as much as possible. So I'll be replacing most of the links from the meme started by Michael. My purpose is to give opportunity to pinoy entrecard community and hoping that I could get a better linkback. Thanks to Wangbu for tagging me.

    ———COPY FROM HERE———-
    Rule #1
Make an alphabetical list of links or title of their blog that starts from A-Z. You could replace or copy the links below but it would be better if you replace them all to spread the lovelink more. Also, don’t forget to link back the tagger.

    A - Aiza D Great
    B - Biyahilo
C - Culture Shiok Singapore OFW
    D - Doorlight
    E - Eagleman
    F - Fingers Dot Crossed
    G - Glitchline
    H - Hulag
    I - I-Google Mo
    J - Jojitah
    K - Keyboard Monologues
L - Letters From The Soul
    M - Mobile eBooks Etc.
    N - Nierva Dot Com
    O - Orange Inks
    P - Pinoy Ambisyoso
    Q - *can't find pinoy ec
    R - Repah
    S - Silkenhut
    T - Toingks
    U - UP Alumni
    V - Vince Celeste
W - What Are You Thinking About, Jamie?
    X - xoxo Lhyz
    Y - Yatot Chronicles
    Z - *can't find pinoy ec

**NOTE: If anyone from the above list wants to continue the meme, consider yourself tagged!

    Rule #2
You now have to “tag” at least five people and encourage them to participate so that this thing spreads like a virus. Remember, though, that not everyone’s into these kinds of things, so don’t be upset if they don’t participate. Just simply replace your tag. Remember to tag blogs only and no pornographic ones as we do want to keep the integrity as a blogging community.
TIP: Tag your frequent EntreCard droppers via its messaging system. As for me, I will tag the following:

    Joan Joyce
    Touched By An Angel
    Evil Woobie
    Beautiful And Happy
    Marikenya

    Rule #3
Just like any other “meme” out there, ask a question for your taggees to answer along with your own answer to the previous question. (This is optional.)

Here’s my question: Do you practice "You Drop... I Follow"?

    Filipinos Support Jun Lozada

The ZTE-NBN case at the Senate hearing yesterday somehow became clearer of what actually happen when Jun Lozada arrived from Hongkong. The hearing tried to establish whether or not Lozada's rights were violated when authorities whisked him away from his family shortly after his arrival last Tuesday.

Present as resource persons in the hearing are National Police chief Dir. Gen. Avelino Razon Jr, former presidential chief of staff Mike Defensor, Manila International Airport General Manager Alfonso Cusi, Deputy Executive Secretary Manuel Gaite and Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Lito Atienza are questioned by the Blue Ribbon Committee.

I've watched the live telecast yesterday and firmly believe that Rodolfo "Jun" Lozada is telling the truth in his testimonies. Not even once that you can see him irritated, he even cried when other "witnesses" answered the question. Cover-up? Yup, based on the questioning, there were loopholes on their answers and covering up somehow for "big boy" and "ma'am". What will happen next? Who will be next for questioning?

From the start, the nuns and priests supported Jun Lozada. Now, the Alliance of Concerned Teachers launched “Piso para kay Lozada, “Piso para sa Katotohanan” to fund his legal defense amid threats of legal suits from the administration and its allies. Concerned citizen should participate to the campaign to show our support to Jun Lozada.

Former President Corazon Aquino announced that there will be a mass on Sunday at 10am at La Salle Greenhills to celebrate the Edsa Revolution Anniversary and maybe a good timing to support Jun Lozada. I hope our honorable senators will do their part for the entire filipino people.

A group allegedly composed of Camp Crame police officers and a Metro Manila
Mayor is reportedly raking in millions of pesos by hoarding P1 coins and shipping them to China for conversion into amusement game tokens in casinos and night spots.

Hmnn... here we go again. Disrespectful filipinos of our country. They are not ashamed of what they're doing. According to the news, they're giving php 300 for every php 1,000 worth of 1 peso coins they are buying. We don't have enough law to punish these kind of people for doing such things, if they are caught, the coins are just confiscated. That's it. The Rules and Regulations on the Reproduction and/or Use of Legal Tender should be revised as soon as possible to stop these people and face the consequences of their violation.

Our "piso" or 1 peso coin is made of Cupro-Nickel composed of 75% copper & 25% nickel. If you compare it a to a regular token, it is slight heavier. As a filipino, the issue made me sad, it made me ashamed that I have "kababayan" like them. How come these disrespectful people get away just because we don't have enough law to protect our monetary system. :-( I doubt that they haven't taught enough or understand their finance subjact in college. Aren't they ashamed of Jose Rizal, our national hero who happens to be embossed on our 1 peso coin?

As far as I know, if this is true, China is known for low cost production and our country have existing agreement with them. There are many websites I've seen that offers custom made tokens production. It just so happen that I know that there are also local manufacturers here of tokens for video games and videoke machine.

On the contrary, is this for real or just want ZTE Broadband deal witness Jun Lozada issue be forgotten just like the other corruption issues?

Its pretty normal in the Philippines that filipinos will go home to their respective provinces because Holy Week is almost a week long vacation and holiday. Good thing that Philippine Airlines came up with their promo to help filipinos lessen their expenses.

Philippine Airlines had extended their P88 promo for the coming Lenten season, the promo dubbed as "Holy Week Special" is valid from March 21 to March 22, Good Friday and Black Saturday respectively. Strong family ties is a culture we have among Filipinos, there's no doubt that we take good care of our elders. But sometimes, there are various reasons why some family cannot attend to their elders. Unfortunately, poverty is one of the main reason, filipino elders belongs to class A and B family are lucky.

The most common reported illness by the elderly was arthritis and rheumatism. Other common health problems are hypertension, lung diseases (e.g. asthma, emphysema, tuberculosis), cataracts and heart problems. The elderly also mentioned diabetes, stomach and kidney problems. Poor physical function has adverse consequences for the affected elder, his family, community, and the larger society.

What about the filipino elders outside our country, in United Kingdom specifically? They have the financial capacity to live in a care home. But choosing the right care home is the primary concern. Each elderly have different health condition, emotional state and needs, the family are choosy on choosing the right home care.

Bettercaring is leading online service offering needed informations on registered care homes in the UK. Its impossible that you cannot find the best option available that suits the needs of your beloved elderly. Aside from the list of registered home cares, the site is also a source of information on care. They also have articles on health care that are really worth reading for. I even read the diabetes article because my mother is a diabetic. A forum is also a plus factor of the website wherein people can discuss their concens on choosing the right home care and other topics such as health care experiences.

    ZTE Witness Jun Lozada

ZTE broadband deal star witness Rodolfo "Jun" Lozada testifies at the Senate Hearing started at 10:30am this morning. After his hiding for almost a year because of this controversial issue involving First Gentleman Mike Arroyo and Comelec ex-Chairman Benjamin Abalos.

The overpriced amounting to $329M National Broadband Network (NBN) deal with China's ZTE Corp., is originally initial proposal of $132M. Comelec ex-Chairman Abalos wants Lozada to be sure of his $130M commision from the ZTE broadband deal. According to his testimony, the initial proposal of $132M had ballooned to $329M.

This is another corruption issue of our present Government. There are already many corruption issues before and left unsolved. I hope, there are many people just like Jun Lozada who will come up in the open. To Filipinos, let's be aware of what is happening to our country. The Blue Ribbon Committee assigned to the investigation of the ZTE anomaly scheduled the next hearing on Monday at 10:30am. Jun, mabuhay ka!

    Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Lenten season. It is the seventh Wednesday before Easter Sunday. Many filipino catholics go to church to hear mass and have their forehead marked with a cross of ashes as a sign of penitence and mortality.

Traditionally, a priest marks each worshipper on the forehead, and says "remember you are dust and unto dust you shall return", or a similar phrase based on God's sentence on Adam in Genesis 3:19.

Ashes were made by burning palm or "palaspas" as we call it in the Philippines from the previous year's Palm Sunday, is very symbolic. We, as christians, leave the mark on our forehead as long as it fade.

January and February are the busiest months for entrepreneurs. I didn't know that today is Mayor Bernabe's 60th birthday until I have to drop by at the City Administrator's Office, business matters. Actually, I was there in the Paranaque Municipal City Hall this morning, processing the working permits of employees.

The BPLO lounge was converted to a dining hall. It's a big hall and used to be an idle space before Mayor Florencio Bernabe's term. Well, everybody's busy. I haven't finished my business there yet and have to go back again tomorrow. This is the reason why, I seldom post at my blog. Anyway, a memo posted on the wall caught my attention.

Yes! I have been accepted AGAIN by smorty! I used to be a member but I have to change my domain for more opportunities. Before changing my domain, I've inquired to smorty regarding my account. They've informed me that I have to reapply my blog again. I felt sad that day but I have no choice. I've deleted my blog from my account.

After sometime using my new domain, I've tried to reapply but my application was declined for the reason that my blog haven't been index yet. Well, I supposed I should have wait for a little more time to reapply. I just continue blogging and wait for the right time until I've decided to reapply my other blog. Luckily, its been accepted. After accepting some campaign there, I've tried again to reapply this blog for the third time. Finally, they've given me another chance and I'm happy for that.

For me, blogging is a hobby. My outlet to my stressful life outside blogosphere. A hobby that can also drain our resources if we don't get paid for blogging. I should know more than anyone else. Until I've came to know the service. It is the gateway between advertisers and bloggers. As long as you're active to blogging and have the passion to write, there's no way that you can't have the chance to get paid to blog.

Make sure that you've chosen the right category for your blog to make the campaigns suitable to your blog. Blog advertising to your blog is more effective with the right and proper category.

I wanted to post this long time ago, actually since I've joined Entrecard. The first thing I've noticed when I purchased adverts, some bloggers are declining or rejecting my ad for the reason of "Not Relevant".

My blog contents are mostly regarding my country and everything I want to share in the blogosphere. It's ok to reject an ad you don't want to be seen on your site, its your choice and its your site, no contest to that. But if you're a pinoy (slang word of filipino) blogger and maintaining a tech blog or music blog, would you discriminate a personal blog?

Some pinoy entrecard users I know sometimes told me that they've been rejected by another filipino blog. They have my sympathy and I've learned a lesson from it. I've been waiting for a certain site to advertise, I have no luck. But seeing his advert approval stat... with 0% adverts requests declined and 0% approved requests declined. Wow! I am really impressed. No doubt why he had so many visitors on his site.

I have an advert approval stat of 1.79% adverts requests declined and 1.82% approved requests declined. I'm not proud of it. I've made some mistakes on my first day at Entrecard. hehehe... Oh well. I shouldn't have rejected adverts at that time just like almost everybody was doing that time. I guess, there are many members now conscious with their stat, they seldom reject adverts now except for the new members.

    Extra Income Through Selling

With the economic crisis we have in the Philippines many filipinos are working hard for a better future. A regular 8 to 5 job sometimes is not enough to feed a family. A family's increasing needs will push a member of the family to look for an extra income without leaving the present job. The most common source of extra income is through selling. I even have some online transactions from the forum I used to visit before. We are doing transaction through private message, through SMS and email. After I paid for the item, they have it delivered right to my doorstep.

I don't know if they still sell their products at the forum, the common "showroom" of their product is their multiply accounts. I just wonder if they still don't know the shopping cart software I've read. Ashop ecommerce software provides all the necessary things needed to sell online.

Investing with a shopping cart software is easy on the budget, a reasonable monthly fee compared to other eCommerce software. You couldn't imagine how easy it is to use not until you've tried the software. They offer a 10 day free trial of the software, no credit card information will be asked. With the 10 day trial period, you will know the ease of setting up your online store. There are various templates to choose from, html knowledge is not required. The best part about Ashop is the support, if ever you need any help or advice you can contact them through phone, chat and email.

Aside from being user friendly and marketing friendly, search engine is really important. It would drive you possible customers. More customer means more profits. If you want limitless opportunities, the best choice is Ashop Commerce. We can never tell but someday after seeing your online business continue to grow with this software, you might end up leaving your present work and enjoy selling at the comfort of your home and your family.

    Entrecard: You Drop, I Follow

I haven't posted any entrecard entries in my blog except when I joined entrecard contest twice and my Pinoy Entrecard users list. Do I have to tell you that Entrecard is my favorite social network? Who doesn't want to have fun while socializing with other bloggers? I could say that Entrecard is a success, members' statistics still continue to grow.

From the time I'm using Entrecard, no doubt that it did wonders on my traffic and to other bloggers patronizing entrecard. I am still using the policy of "You Drop, I Follow". Its as simple as it is, you visit my site, drop your card and I will the return the favor of doing the same thing. Basically, I'm online at daytime Philippine time, GMT +8... sometimes I can't return the favor to droppers at night specially if I haven't seen their cards in my inbox. The only way I can do that is let me know that you've been here.

It really works for me, I've seen regular droppers at my site and I continue returning the favor. Droppers on my site would never feel that they've been snob. What's the use of entrecard if you have the rank of "just here for the view"? I'm not 24/7 online, I still have many things I have to attend to but rest assured that I will visit them as long as I know that they've been here. If you wish to leave your message to entrecard, I'll be delighted seeing your message.

The "You drop, I follow" doesn't work overnight but in the long run, everything would be fine with your regular droppers. Sometimes, if I dont have any running ads to other site, I sometimes received a take you note for giving their site a reasonable drops. Actually, I'm surprised and flattered when some people do this.

I don't discriminate my droppers as long as you dropped your card on my site, feel free to browse if you wish. I don't discriminate blog not related to my site, I'll accept it as soon I can. Although, I haven't encountered adult advert yet on my blog, that's the only exemption. Sorry for that.

    Keep on dropping!

It is possible that merchants or online entrepreneurs cannot provide the above requirements of online shoppers without the complete shopping cart software they use for their online store.
