When Big Brother was introduced in the Philippines, from season one of Pinoy Big Brother, Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition and Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition to present, I've noticed that there are always "love teams".
Staying in the Big Brother house, isolated from the outside world and together with the housemates 24/7 somehow make a special feeling developed among the housemates.
Could it be a strategy? Lets put it this way, if you are in their shoes and you are always nominated to be evicted or think that you are not that popular to your co-housemates, what would be the easy way so that people outside will vote for you so that you will not be evicted?
Most filipinos, whatever age bracket they belong make "kilig" (sorry, I cannot find the right english word for it) when they saw that their favorite housemate shows special attention to a certain housemate. Everything have limitations especially tonight's episode of Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus.
A scene when Nicole's mom was talking with Big Brother and said that their family is conservative and requested to talked with Nicole. Another scene when Nicole and her mom are talking regarding Nicole's special attention with Josef when she already have boyfriend outside. Being a parent myself, I understand her feelings. Its like, "hey, you're on national TV". However, Nicole maybe is being true to herself. But the impression will be left with the pinoy televiewers. Nicole even confessed to Beauty that she isn't used to expressing herself to her parents. Now, I see the point why there should be guardians inside the house. Episode tomorrow is something I don't wanna miss when Nicole's mom will be joining them. I saw Nicole's facial expression, she's not happy with the idea.
My eldest son who happens to have crush with Nicole is now turned off with her attitude. I hope, the teens will be wise enough to realize that most of the time, the wonderful thing they saw with their co-housemates doesn't last long when they get out of Big Brother House.

What's this, mental block? Or bloggers block? I am sitting in front of my computer for almost three hours and still can't think of anything to write. I read somewhere tips on overcoming bloggers block but I loose the link. Since its summer vacation and I don't already have yaya, of course I do all the household chores. Good thing that my kids help me in some of the chores.
Normally, the usual online time for me before was in the morning when all kids were at school and its quiet. Now, priority always comes first, I have to attend to all things at home for my family, then business and then my blogs. I have time to blog at night only before going to sleep but chances are my mind and body are tired already.
Before, I always had ideas on my mind what my future entries will be and I take down notes so that I won't forget them. I'm too occupied to think of my future entries, I don't know what to write now. Stress? Maybe... I guess we really need a vacation before school starts. Maybe a spa or a couple of hours in a salon would do the trick for the meantime.

In Kalaliman (deep), explore deep sea marine creatures such as stingray, guitar shark, tiger shark and other pating (shark) species. What made me stay at this place? I was fascinated with the giant stingray, the stingrays on the glass roof and of course, I love observing the school of fish.
I remember my English professor back in college asking us the plural form of fish. All of us got the wrong answer, we told her "Its easy, fishes". She said. that the plural form of fish is "school of fish". I told my kids about this, and they're in Kalaliman aquarium, swimming in group... school of fish.

By this time, I should be on my way home from out of town vacation from La Union Beach and Baguio. We decided to postponed the planned vacation to prioritize school expenses, my kids suggested to visit Manila Ocean Park instead. I really need a day-off from household chores since I don't have yaya now and hardly find time to blog. Anyway, you can click the images to view the larger images.
Manila Ocean Park is the first and largest aquarium facility in the Philippines located at the back of Quirino Grandstand in Luneta Park, Manila. Experience a wide variety of species, such as sharks, fish and invertebrates indigenous to the Philippines and Southeast Asia. The image at right is the lobby. Entrance fee is php 400 and php 350 for children. Discounts are available for senior citizens, students and Manila residents. You may call (632)567-2309 for further inquiries.
The Oceanarium is divided into five main sections: Agos (Flow), Bahura (Reef), Laot (Fishing Ground), Buhay Na Karagatan (The Living Ocean) and Kalaliman (The Deep). You may click the section link for more information and wonderful images of each part of Manila Ocean Park. You can see more "touch screen" educational and information machine inside the oceanarium like the image at right. I found it impressive and try a few search.
Journey inside the Oceanarium can take about 2 hours. Ozeano Restaurant is located at the 2nd floor of the Oceanarium. Many find the food expensive but they didn't know that Ozeano is owned by Tamayo's Ozeano Philippines. I wonder if its the same with Tamayo Company who offers catering services to wedding and have office at the back of Manila Cathedral. If it is, I'm sure that the food is superb and the price is reasonable. If you're on a budget, there are also kiosks and other fastfood stalls outside Manila Ocean Park. Food and drinks are not allowed inside, including smoking.
You will see the Souveneir Shop after you exit Ozeano Restaurant. Just like any theme park, there are stuffed toys, shirts, umbrellas, toys, mugs with Manila Ocean Park prints. I guess, when the theme park is complete, there will be more souveneir stuff here.
When we exit Manila Ocean Park, we noticed this big billboard. Discover the marine world's vast resources. Enjoy the funfilled learning experience. -President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo
I asked my children if they enjoyed Oceanarium. Kuya told me why there were no squids and turtles. Bitin daw. My second son agreed and suggested to go to SM Mall Of Asia. And our fun was finally complete...

Bahura (means reef) is the second main section of Manila Ocean Park after Agos (flow). Bahura features fascinating sea creatures in the Philippine coral reefs. It is dark in here, flash of camera inside the oceanarium should be off at all times. Flash might stress the fish. I'm amazed in this part because many marine creatures I haven't seen before can be found here such as the giant japanese spider crab, (the body is twice or thrice bigger than a human head), razorfish, reef stone fish, Singapore shrimp goby, spotted garden eel, titan triggerfish, chambered nautilus, blue spotted ribbontail ray (pagi or stingray), bamboo shark (the eggs of bambo shark can also be seen) and many more.
Remember the animated movie Nemo? I love Dory, I don't know the fish specie so I simply call it Dory. And of course, I love Nemo, the clown fish. I first saw clown fish in Club Paradise in Palawan and this was the second time I saw again a clown fish in action. Click thumbnails to view the larger and better images.

Manila Ocean Park begins the marine journey at Agos (filipino word of flow), learn about the natural flow of water from land to see. Agos features the artificial falls and various african orchids. Click thumbnails for better view of the images.

The Giant arapaima looks like aruana to me and its really huge. I think they belong to same species. The second image is the top view of giant arapaima. The beautiful landscape features artificial waterfalls, wooden stairs, various african orchids and of course, marine creatures.
You can also find here the Touch Pool wherein you can touch the blue and brown starfish. Don't remove them from water. I had a small chat with the employee there, I told her that I brought home blue starfish from Laia, Batangas years ago and place it in coleman jug but forgot to leave open the cover. When I opened it at home, it was color gray and dead. My mistake, I should have not took it home in the first place.
Other marine creatures that can be found here are electric eel, tawny nurse shark, alligator gar and other small fish.

I was watching the late night documentary show featuring a 19 year old helper who was maltreated by her "amo" (employer). The young girl was beaten up, full of bruises and wounds to different part of her body, her left ear was deformed. The lady employer even had the helper raped by their dog. I can't imagine how the lady employer did these things, she's inhuman in every sense of the word. The sufferings of the abused helper came to end when her co-helper went to abused helper's family and eventually she was rescued by authorities. Tons of legal cases were filed against the abussive employers.
I remember our yaya (nanny) who already left us to start her own family last week. She's with us for nine years, during that period we consider her part of the family. Imagine, she could have studying children now if she got married nine years ago. People have told me that we were lucky to have her. And I could say that she was also lucky with us as her employer. My dad told us (my sisters) when we were young that the root word of "katulong" (helper) is "tulong" (help), they are there primarily "to help" in household chores. He emphasized that helpers and slaves were two different words and meaning.
Anyway, she's not just our yaya, she my youngest son's playmate and second mom when I'm at work. She's a friend to me as well. I was sad but I have to let her go for her own life. I just hope and pray that she'll be happy with her married life.

Finally, Delfin DJ Montano interviewed for the first time by Korina Sanchez in TV Patrol regarding Brian Gorrel accusations against him. DJ MOntano together with his family and lawyer denied the accusations, they will file charges against Brian in Philippines and Australia. See the video below.
Its been a month since Brian started blogging regarding DJ Montano controversy, I guess, if Brian Gorrel didn't do it, DJ Montano will not came out in the open. It isn't right judging that quick, lets wait what would happen with the libel case when we hear both sides the legal way.
Words to ponder: Hey, pay up!

pinoy DJ Montano Brian GorrelThe moment when the big plus in Pinoy Big Brother Teen edition was revealed, I don't intend to post the update anymore. I don't like the idea of having the parents or guardians inside the house. Does big brother is running out of gimmicks inside the house?
I just saw how a father truly loves his son. It touched my heart when Jolas' father ask for Big Brother's permission to sleep with his son. He told Kuya how he missed his son very much and reason why he became protective to his son. Every parent is protective but to Jolas' age? That was because Jolas' big brother died of leukemia and Jolas almost had leukemia when he was young.
I salute Big Brother for showing the video to Jolas. Parents are sometimes misinterpreted and misunderstood by their children. On the other hand, parents sometimes hide emotions and hardly express themselves. I miss my dad so much.
Tomorrow is the 1st Eviction Night. I vote for Jieriel... to be the first one to get out of the house!

Should my title be "Wazzup, Philippines?" I can't help but react to the present situation. Juan dela Cruz symbolizes filipinos, same as John Doe of US.
The basic commodity prices continues to increase, a regular filipino hardly bought food for the family. How about the less fortunate pinoys, their situation became worst. The skyrocketing price of rice added to their dilemma. Its in the news everyday, price increase of gasoline, rice, raw materials of canned goods etc which naturally the finish product price will follow to increase. There are times that I don't want to watch news, its always bad news except when Manny Pacquiao wins against Juan Manuel Marquez. The crime rate are also expected to rise because of the terrible cost of living.
A friend living in US, once told me that together with his familt, they've decided to move from Escondido, California to Texas. The reason is they can't cope uo with the cost of living in California, they are better now in Texas. I hope, filipinos can apply the same strategy in the Philippines. Nah, enough with the wishful thinking.
Economic sabotage? I hardly heard of ZTE-NBN case witness Jun Lozada except that former President Cory Aquino has colon cancer and her chemotheraphy. I pray and wish her fast recovery. The people now are more focused on how to cope with the cost of living.
A colleague campaining for President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo last election told me that her "only" reason why she supports GMA was she is an economist. Economist? Why thinking of rice importation when Philippines is a agricultural country? The reality that she neglected many things and concentrated on other "economy", proved my collegue wrong on her choice. Where was my collegue now? She migrated to US and plan to go back in the Philippines when the economy becomes better. Whew!

Summer in a tropical country should be full of outdoor activities such as swimming, wakeboarding, kiteboarding, surfing, cycling and many more. There should be lots of fun with these activities. Summer is also considered as kidney stone season when people have the highest risk of obtaining a kidney stone during this season.
Kidney stones are made of salts and minerals in the urine that stick together to form small "pebbles." They can be as small as grains of sand or as large as golf balls. Sounds simple but the "profound degree of pain" can radiate down the side and belly and can be accompanied by excessive sweating, nausea and vomiting. The pain will stop and starts again, its a cycle of pain. Normally, when you felt these symptoms, you have no choice but to rush to a nearby hospital. The pain is unbearable and can be compared to labor pains.
Its summer, studies showed that summer is kidney stone season. Here are the tips I want to share, I will update this if I remember additional tips.
Its okay to have fun during summer but don't forget your water!

The Autralian blogger Brian Gorrel is on national television for 2 days already. Brian Gorrel wants to take his money back from filipino boyfriend DJ Montano. According to his tale to his blog, DJ Montano bilked him a sum of $70,000. Its sad that a filipino was involved to this controversy, considering that Brian Gorrel used blog as his tool to demand the retun of his money from DJ Montano.
A blackmail? What do you think? ABS-CBN managed to interview Brian Gorrel in Autralia, I'm sure they are capable interviewing of DJ Montano. But I haven't watch any DJ Montano clearing his name in the public. Brian Gorrel's tale includes gucci gang, his ex's well to do friends. Brian claimed that he had evidences on his misfortune. He should bring this to court and file charges. Is there such law? I dunno, but seeing the blog somehow made me sad as a Pinoy, this is additional negative impression among filipinos in the Philippines. What a shame.
Through blogging, Brian Gorrel shared dirty filipino secrets that he came to know when they're still in good terms. Brian deserves my sympathy, I hope that after he get what he wants from DJ Montano, he will come back and visit Philippines again and see that not all filipinos are like DJ Montano. On the other hand, DJ Montano is now a star not in pinoy blog community but to the entire blogospehere.
I like to hear the comments from my highest entrecard dropper Pandora Casket and from my highest received drop to the advert I place at Eyespi20 for the month of March.

A playful six year old boy came out of comfort room, jumped and landed his feet to the wet doormat, he slided and fell down. The back of his head hit the corner of the concrete stair. He instantly looked pale and burst into tears. He didn't have wound but his mom brought him to a nearby doctor immediately, afraid for internal hemorrhage. The boy was under observation for 24 hours.
The same boy at four years old chew a blade incidentally, mistaken it for a toy. The good thing was, her mother was around and made him spit the pieces of blades. Thank God that there was no blood or cuts on his tongue, lip and other parts of his mouth.
His teachers were fond of him for his scent that almost like a baby compared to other boys his age during his elementary years.
Time flies too fast... the little boy had grown up... the "kuya" of my darlings. I often teased him by calling him "Nitoyo" (Nicolo) or "Tuya" (Kuya or big brother). Yep, he can't talked straight during childhood or we call it "bulol" in the Philippines. I used to accompany him on his taekwondo and swimming lessons during elementary. Whew! Those were the days... This morning, we attended his baccalaureate mass... Tomorrow is his Graduation Day. I was teary eyed when he gave me a white rose with a letter. A letter of a young man for his mom.
