August 18 is a special nonworking holiday to commemorate Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino’s death anniversary. Ninoy’s death anniversary as approved by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo was supposed to be on August 21 but it falls on a Thursday. Since the nearest Monday is August 18, it is therefore a holiday. R.A. 9492 provides that holidays, except those which are religious in nature, moved to the nearest Monday unless otherwise modified by law, order or proclamation.

I did have negative impression seeing those banners. Whose behind this? “Makabayan” (nationalistic)? Or OA (over acting)?
