My Sister Won The Lottery!

Last Thursday, I’ve accompanied my sister to Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office in E. Rodriguez, Quezon City to claim her lottery price of php 23,040. It was the price for getting the 5 digits out of 6 digit combination.

It was my usual blogging time when my sister hurried home from work to look for her lotto ticket, at first I thought she was just kidding. I saw the newspaper and her lottery ticket, its true. She asked me to accompany her and bring my valid IDs to claim the price. We were in the PCSO at about 2pm. Validation cut-off is 4pm and bank closes at 3pm. Validation and check issuance took time, we almost didn’t make it at Landbank.
The bank is inside the PCSO building, ground floor.

Because of my excitement, I’ve forgot to take pictures of the lotto ticket, the validation and the check. How silly of me.:-( Anyway, after claiming the price, the whole family headed to Dampa, Macapagal Avenue for dinner. Of course, my sister’s treat.:-)

Valentine's Day Quotes

Sometimes life is unfair…
But sometimes it makes you complete.
How I wish life will be happy the same as I dream of…
With your love one at your side…
Caring.. comforting.. loving.. and the happiest part?
Stays with you through thick and thin.

Love is a curious substance,
One that acts differently of how much you have it.
It can literally, be a miracle drug,
A cure to anything that life may throw at you.
It may give you more than enough reasons to live
Inspite of the pain and suffering that you may be going through.
But sometimes it acts like a poison.
Slowly and painfully, it drains your life away
To the point that you wish you were dead.
Ironic, that love is still the antidote..

Katufors Christmas Party

Katufors Christmas Party

What: Katufor’s Christmas Party
When: Dec.15 6pm – Dec.16 6am
Who: Katufors
Where: Villa Majia, Pansol, Laguna

Another Katufor GEB, our Christmas party. Katufor derived from the word “kain-tulog-forum”, don’t take it seriuosly… its just a name. :-) This was our second time at Villa Mejia in Pansol, Laguna. We seldom see each other, we communicate through mobile SMS, forum, friendster and YM, we make it a point to organize such get together once in a while. Maybe, the next GEB might be on summer vacation.

Anyway, most of the members came from Bulacan and Nueva Ecija, some from Manila, Caloocan, Batangas, Laguna. Members present: Ace, Alexis, Athan, Cadaver, Fatima, Glitch, Grande, Jac, Jade, Jearic, Jeff, Jhanrich, Mafel, Metal, Mybernal, Nathalie, Neth, Nol, Phonetics and Sarah plus 5 non members. The companion of Jhanrich, Jap from Nueva Ecija became a member after the event. :-)

Foods and drinks: Canadian ham, BBQ, Litson Manok, Beef Brocolli and Macaroni Salad plus 2 bottles of Grand Matador & 24 bottles of Red Horse Mucho. Whew!

Overall, the Christmas party was fun, no dull moments. Members from the north left at 7am while the rest (mostly from south) stayed and continued the fun until 4pm that day.

Christmas SMS Messages

The SMS Christmas messages I’ve received so far. You may copy them and send to your loved ones on Christmas.

Work of Christmas begins…
When the song of the angels is tilled,
When the star in the sky is gone,
When the Kings and the Princes are home,
When the shepherds are back with the flocks,
Then the work of Christmas begins…

to find the lost,
to heal those broken in spirit,
to feed the hungry,
to release the oppressed,
to rebuild the nations,
to bring peace among all people,
to make a little music with the heart…

And to radiate the lights of Christ,
everydaym in every way, in all what we do and
in all that we say.
Then the work of Christmas begins.

***

“Christmas is most truly Christmas when we celebrate it by giving the light of love to those who need it most.” – Ruth Carter Stapleton

***

What good is it that Christ was born?
Meister Eckhart once said: “What good is it that Christ was born 2,000 years ago if he is not born now in your heart?”

***

Lord, we do far too much celebrating your actual coming in our hearts. I believe in God but do I believe in “God in me?” I believe in God in heaven, but do I believe in “God on earth?” I believe in God out there, but do I believe in “God with us?” Lord, be born in my heart. Come alive in me this Christmas.

***

Christmas is the season for kindling the fire of hospitality in the hall, the genial flame of charity in the heart. – Washington Irving

***

C-hristmas gave

R-eward so that
I-ndividual know the
S-acrifices
T-hat He did for
M-ankind to
A-chieve the gift of
S-alvation

***

“Christmas. my child, is love in action. Every time we love, every time we give, its Christmas”. -Dale Evans Rogers

***

“He who has not Christmas in his heart will never find it under a tree.” -Roy L. Smith

***

“Christmas is not an eternal event at all, but a piece of one’s home that one carries in one’s heart.” -Freya Stark

***

Let us keep Christmas beautiful withouht a thought of greed, that it might live forevermore to fill our every need. That it shall not be just a day, but last at lifetime through, the miracle of Christmas that brings heaven close to you. -Garnett Ann Schultz

***

Let Christmas not become a thing merely of merchant’s trafficking. Of tinsel, bells and wreath and surface pleasure, but beneath the childish glamour, let us find nourishment for heart and mind. Let us follow kinder ways through our teeming human maze, and help the age of peace to come. -Madeline Morse

SEVEN Truths About Me

I’ve been tagged from my other blog regarding seven truths about me. Here it is:

  1. I am a typical Gemini, some people say a real stub born. I don’t admit that I am one but I stand to my decision whatever circumtances it may have. A gemini has a “twin” sign which symbolizes dual personality in one. I could say that I may be bad or good depends on the situation… and nothing neutral in my personality.
  2. Some people maybe not interested in reading newspaper, watching latest news on TV or reading news online. My day isn’t complete without knowing the latest news around.
  3. I’m not shy to tell everyone that I am also a product of broken family. I grew up with my father together with my sisters. I love my dad so much and missed him a lot until now.
  4. I am the eldest among my sisters and always in charge to take care of my sisters. I’ve learned the word “responsibility” at an early age. It’s like I am the second father when my father wasn’t around.
  5. I have few girl friends and many boy friends. Take note, friend is separated to boy and girl. It is easy for me to get along with boys than girls. I don’t like friends with many hang-ups. I used to see my bestfriend once in a while, she’s always my best pal since high school.
  6. I consider myself a health buff, monitoring my food and physique. I drink alcohol socially and always stop before I reached my limit. The sad thing is… I can’t quit smoking.
  7. My frustration… My dad didn’t allow me to learn taekwondo when I was young, my kids did. :-) I want to try wakeboarding and surfing if given the chance.
