Pacquiao, Solar Sports Settled Contract Issues
Contract issues between Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and Solar Sports with GMA 7 is settled. This week, a video of Manny Pacquiao was aired in TV Patrol announcing that ABS CBN will be his new media partner in future boxing bouts including Pacquiao vs Hatton Match in May 2. He reportedly signed a contract to ABS CBN so he can return to Kapamilya Network. SNN (Showbiz News Ngayon) host Kris Aquino even said on air that Jinky Pacquiao, wife of Manny told her that Manny had long been want to come back to Kapamilya Network.
Solar Sports Entertainment earlier announced that Pacquiao had returned to its fold after a meeting between Wilson Tieng and chief operating officer Peter Chanliong and Pacquiao in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, GMA 7 and Solar Sports Entertainment had renewed their contract last week.
“Solar Entertainment Corporation, Manny Pacquiao and MP Promotions, are happy to announce that in the spirit of utmost good faith, the parties have favorably resolved their unfortunate misunderstanding. Manny and MP Promotions have agreed to honor the television rights agreement and fully comply with the terms and conditions therein,” Solar Sports Entertainment said.
“Taos puso akong humihingi ng paumanhin kung kayo man ay naguluhan kung saan ipapalabas ang aking darating na laban kay Ricky Hatton. Ito po ay resulta lang ng hindi pagkaka-intindihan sa pagitan ng Solar Entertainment Corporation at MP Promotions,” Manny Pacquiao said.
“Manny Pacquiao approached ABS-CBN to be his media partner in airing his next fights. We thank him for trusting us. He signed a contract with us, but we will not stand in the way if he decides to change his mind. We respect it, wish him good luck and we wait to hear from him,” ABS CBN said.
Pacquiao’s fight with Hatton will be shown on GMA-7 and Solar Sports.
I heard that Manny Pacquiao is already thinking of his retirement in boxing and have plans of running in Congress in 2010 Election. If everything went well with Pacquiao’s political plan, ots impossible for him to return to Kapamilya Network when it comes to his future boxing fights.

Pacquiao Returns To Kapamilya Network
As far as I remember, Pambansang Kamao, Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao used to be a kapamilya before. If my memory serves me right, his previous 2-3 boxing match were aired in GMA 7, prior to that was all aired to ABC-CBN network. Pacquiao even had shows in Kapuso Network.
I watched SNN (Showbiz News Ngayon) last night and Kris Aquino said that she talked with Jinky Pacquiao over the phone and told her that Manny had long been wanting to return to ABS-CBN. He reportedly signed a letter of intent with ABS-CBN which will cover the Hatton on May 2, 2009 match and possibly three or more fights thereafter.
UPDATE: Solar Sports Entertainment has claimed it will seek legal remedies in case of breach of contract by Pacquiao. While Pacquiao is not affected by the possibility of him being sued after Solar Sports reportedy failed to “fulfill its obligation to pay stipulated fees for the subject rights.”

DZMM Takbo Para Sa Kalikasan 2009
Takbo para sa kalikasan project of DZMM is on their 10th year. I remember Pia Cayetano’s interview (or commercial?) about the event for the rehabilitation of La Mesa Watershed. FYI, La Mesa Watershed supplies water to 12 million Metro Manila residents. I’m sure there are other known personalities in the event. I haven’t tried joining a fun run like this, I want to join but I think I’m not in good condition to finish the race… no practice and stopped working out last year. I’ll ask my friend if he could join me. Its a good start to drive the stress away and to stay healthy.
You can download the registration here or to any of the following venues:
- DZMM Aksyon Center,
- Eugenio Lopez Drive (inside PBB concert hall)
- Vasquez Madrigal Building, Anapolis Street, Greenhills

Mark your calendar, 10th annual DZMM Takbo Para sa Kalikasan at Quirino Grandstand, Luneta on March 8, 2009 at 4am. I really want to have a finisher shirt.

Baguio City, the summer capital of the Philippines is targeting the Guinness World Record for most golfers gathered in an event. The 59th Fil-Am International Golf Tournament will start on November 19, 2008 and ends in December 6, 2008 in Camp John Hay and Baguio Country Club.
Last year, there are 1,200 golfers from all over the world joined the tournament. The said event just like the annual Panagbenga Flower Festival every February drew crowds and expecting to draw more this year. The participants of the tournament are mostly from the Asia-Pacific region, they will surely enjoy the two week tournament activities. According to Anthony de Leon, general manager of the Baguio Country Club, the Fil-Am tournament is the “longest and largest” in the amateur class.
The event will surely beat their own record to Guinness.

The Dream Match: Pacquiao Vs De la Hoya
Our very own Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and Oscar de la Hoya poses in Liberty Island, New York, USA during their formal announcement of boxing match tagged as “The Dream Match” in Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena on December 6.
There are rumors that Pacman will not make it this time because Oscar dela Hoya is way too big for Pacman. See the picture? Is it a match? Oscar de la Hoya is also a boxing superstar. Pacquiao’s disadvantage is his height, weight and reach but I doubt if Oscar de la Hoya can beat Pacman’s stamina and speed on the ring.
