Douglas Quijano Dies At 64

12 days from now, the influential talent manager of Philippine movie industry was supposed to celebrate his 65th birthday (June 25). He was found dead this morning at 10 am at his rest house in Lucban Quezon. Reports says that it could be heart attack which also confirmed by Quijano’s friend doctor.

Douglas Quijano’s talents as far as I remember are Richard Gomez, Lucy Torres, Jomari Yllana, Anjo Yllana, Joey Marquez among others. No details of Douglas Quijano’s burial as of this writing.

A(H1N1) Global Pandemic Alert 6

Its alarming that World Health Organization (WHO) had increased the A(H1N1) alert level to 6, the world faces the 2009 influenza pandemic for infecting 74 countries with almost 30,000 reported A(H1N1) cases and 145 deaths.

Philippines currently have 92 reported A(H1N1) cases in a period of 20 days. Our first confirmed patient was in May 20, a 10-year old girl that arrived from US and Canada with her parents in June 18. My Kids' School Was Suspended For A(H1N1)

This post will serve as replacement to deleted post I posted yesterday regarding a school which already have 1 confirmed case of A(H1N1) and happens to be the school of my children.

I don’t see anything wrong with my post yesterday except a small part of it mentioned the school name (used it also on the post title). A screenshot of the post was saved on my computer.

CHED: School Opening Is On June 15

Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Secretary Dr. Emmanuel Angeles announced this weekend the rescheduled school opening for colleges and universities from June 8 to June 15. The primary reason is the possible spread of A(H1N1) virus to students in colleges and universities in the Philippines. It is reportedly moved the official school opening so the exchange students from other countries and students who travelled abroad to have enough time to quarantine themselves at home.

No Classes On My Birthday!

Start of school usually starts on first week of June, this year most schools started in June 1, my kids’ first day of school was yesterday. During my student days, I was guilty of wishing for an early opening of classes so my classmates could sing me a birthday song and my teachers could greet me. That wish wasn’t granted because there are NO school opening started as early as June 5 during my student years. Mababaw ba? That’s who I am.
