A View From Lignon Hill

One of the best places to view Daraga and Legaspi City is the Lignon Hill (pronounced as /li-NYON/). This 143-meter high cinder-cone hill located 11 kilometers southeast of the volcano’s summit is the highest location in the city’s downtown area and towers over the adjacent Legaspi Airport.

A long and uphill road crawls up the sides of Lignon Hill, I’m not afraid to heights but the road is very steep. This is where the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) has a permanent station to observe Mayon Volcano and surrounding areas.
I’ve been to Bicol many times but I hardly notice Lignon Hill, I thought it was just an ordinary hill. If only I knew that this is the best place to take pictures, I supposed I’ve been here long time ago. It was a good idea that my brother insisted to go up there on our way home from Tiwi, Albay. I admit, I was mesmerized to see the beauty of Legaspi when I was up there. I saw the Legaspi Airport’s runway from end to another end, the Kapuntukan Hill also known as “The Sleeping Lion”, Gaisano Mall among others. You could watch the video clip I took.

3rd Eviction Night: Zara Aldana

Bye, Zara! I guess being tagged as the controversial beauty queen didn’t help her. Its the personality that counts inside the Big Brother House. So sad, that she didn’t changed inside. Well, her “cry baby” strategy didn’t work. The new generation of Pinoys loved strong personality and she didn’t have it.

I didn’t post 2nd Eviction Night last week because I didn’t had a chance to watch it but I heard the 26K girls went out of the house. I don’t like them both, they’re so tackless or should I say “palengkera“. Being two-in-one housemate was not a good idea, it didn’t work at all. Marylaine as the “brainy babe” should not stoop down to Jenn’s character. Well…

How Did You Know, Macoy

The song that macoy sang and had a duet with his wife Helena. I love that song, original version by Gary Valenciano. Watching him singing the song while playing the guitar made me left my stuff and watch him for a moment, he’s a real family man. I saw in his eyes how he misses his family. I’m reading his body language, I thought he wants to take his blindfold off when he heard his daughters. Happy Birthday, Macoy!

I remember so well
The day that you came into my life
You asked for my name
You had the most beautiful smile

My life started to change
I’d wake up each day feeling alright
With you right by my side
Makes me feel things will work out just fine

CHORUS

How did you know
I needed someone like you in my life
That there’s an empty space in my heart
You came at the right time in my life

I’ll never forget
How you brought the sun to shine in my life
And took all the worries and fears that I had
I guess what I’m really trying to say
It’s not everyday that someone like you comes my way
No words can express how much I love you

Repeat Chorus

Katufors: North Meets South

Katufors is a clan, the members are composed of the original “Bulacan Boys”. The name Katufor, originated from the words “KAIN”, “TULOG” and “FORUM”. Don’t take it seriously. :-P Anyway, since the original members are from Bulacan, Jeff also a member invited us to Pansol, Laguna (his hometown) to her only daughter’s first birthday party. When we arrived, Jeff told us that the party was done days ago and he reserved the venue for katufors. Whew! Mabuhay ka, Jeff! Although I’m expecting more members from south, the event was fun indeed. The pictures below was taken before I left around 8pm. Medyo may mga tama na, courtesy of their tanggera, your truly. ;-)

Glorietta 2, Freak Tragedy?

Speculations from Glorietta shoppers last Friday said that it could be a LPG blast. I thought, it couldn’t be caused by LPG, if it was, fire should follow after the blast. That’s why I didn’t mention that from my article, Are We Still Safe?.

If it was really “industrial failure” or mismanagement, Ayala Corporation should face the consequences. It was indeed an eye opener as I’ve said from my initial entry… for Shopping Malls Managements.

A lot of speculations and heresays to what really happened last Friday, do we have to wait for another Glorietta tragedy to make Filipinos safe? Do we need a freak incident like this to make another law?

As of this writing I’ve remembered Ozone Disco, March 18, 1996 fire incident. After that incident, strict inspections followed to all the establishments. Strict inspection should be done not in Glorietta but to all shopping malls in the Philippines.
