Glitchline Is Already A WordPress Blog

This is it! I’m sorry if it took me more than 2 days to migrate from blogspot to wordpress. Although I have my own domain last January, my contents were hosted by blogspot/blogger. And this is my first post on this blog on wordpress. There were unexpected problems I encountered during migration even if I started googling around about my migration 2 weeks ago.

Problem #1:
I’m using wordpress 2.6. The import blogger tool didn’t work.
Solution:

  • Make a temporary wordpress.com and import the blogspot/blogger file from there.
  • After importing, export the file and save the xml file on your computer.
  • This is the file to be import on domain.com.

Note: Its an old and simple trick but it did work. Don’t forget to delete all the files on your temporary wordpress.com or you will have stray duplicate contents on the web.

Problem #2:
I’ve been mentioning many times from my other blog that I’m not happy with the customer support of Mobile eBooks’ host. I’m having a hard time seeking answers and help on how can I make multiple blog on single account. 2 days is consumed nothing happened because I end up doing “trial and error”. I tried using their wordpress application (lower version) and I mistakenly overwrite ebooktechie’s wordpress files. I emailed them and ask them if they can restore my contents. Guess what? they will charge me $100++ forgot the exact amount if they restore it. Forget it! The sad part is my backup file is dated May 8.
Solution: The good thing is I understand the file manager. I manually upgrade the wordpress version. Be cautious in htaccess and wp-config file and wp-content folder.

Problem #3:
Permalink, this is the article link. As you can see, I don’t mind using the blogspot permalink even if this blog is already on wordpress. Why? To retain the google juice, I don’t want to start from scratch again. When I switched glitchline.com to glitchline.blogspot.com, its already a PR3. I guess, that answered my post Where’s PageRank.
Solution:

  • On your wordpress admin panel, click settings
  • Choose permalink
  • Click custom structure and put this on the blank
    /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%.html
  • Save changes
  • Login to your blogspot.com, go to posts on admin panel
  • Right click and open a new tab for every post
  • If its a 404 error, edit the wordpress post link

My blogspot/blogger account is pointing to glitchline.com to avoid stray duplicate content. I may or may not transfer the PR3 or maybe sandboxed, at least I’m happy that glitchline is already a wordpress blog. There are still many things needed here which I will tackle soon.

From Blogspot To WordPress

Why I seldom update my blog here? I’m planning to migrate my blog to wordpress. Yep, I have my own domain here but this is not enough. Since I’m already paying for my host of Mobile eBooks Etc, its wise decision to move glitchline to same host. As soon as everything work out fine as expected, I’ll be posting my other reasons why as well as the comparison. hmnn… Blogspot vs WordPress?

For the meantime, here’s my link love to glitchline’s top droppers for the month of July: Diet Pulpit Sonnie’s Porch NE Patriots Draft Orange Derange Make Money Online Urutora No Hi Majik’s Thoughts People You Need To Know Mobile eBooks Etc Photography By KML

Where's PageRank?

Two months from now this blog will celebrate 1st year anniversary. September 27, 2007 is my first entry. I have this blog since 2004 but I forgot my password. I retrieved it and made glitchline‘s first post last September 27. So I consider that date the birthday of this blog.

I still don’t have plans on how to celebrate it especially now that Google is updating the PageRank. I moved to my own domain to this blog last January and lost PR1 for moving. Until now from January, this blog is still a PR0. I don’t know how to express my disappointment. Two updates had passed already, I was hoping to regain a PR1. To be honest, I don’t know if I continue this blog or maybe change the blog’s concept. Hoping before this blog’s birthday, everything is on the right track.

Puerto Princesa Subterranean Underground River

Have you watched PBB Teen Plus journey to the underground river, the famous Puerto Princesa Subterranean River? I’ve just posted two days ago an update article of the Seven New Wonders of Nature, I’m glad the local government of Palawan is promoting the underground river. Imagine, as I’ve wrote my first article regarding Tubbataha Reef, the Subterranean River was listed in 200th+ place, the underground river is now in top 77 (10th place) in 1 1/2 month of promotion of Mayor Edward Hagedorn.

He invited Pinoy Big Brother staff for them to see the beauty of 8.2km river under a mountain and the second longest in the world and drains into the South China Sea. The Subterranean River National Park is a protected national park and UNESCO World Heritage Site just like . PBB flashed the website for televiewers to vote. Click here to vote, don’t forget to confirm your email.

See for yourself a video from youtube.

Upon watching the island adventure and underground river boat ride of PBB, I remembered the time when we went in Huyup-Huyupan Cave in Bicol, there were lots of bats and stalagmites too. If the underground river has Holy Family, Huyup-Huyupan has Mama Mary and infant Jesus.
