Dinakdakan is one of Ilocandia’s native dish as well as kilawen. Its a grilled pig ears/snout/face cut in small slices with spices and mayonnaise. It is a somewhat similar to kilawen (kilawin) that is actually serve as appetizer for those drinking for those who love drinking liquor but it is equally good for viand. Last Thursday, I’ve accompanied my sister to Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office in E. Rodriguez, Quezon City to claim her lottery price of php 23,040. It was the price for getting the 5 digits out of 6 digit combination.
It was my usual blogging time when my sister hurried home from work to look for her lotto ticket, at first I thought she was just kidding. I saw the newspaper and her lottery ticket, its true. Barangay Baclaran is noted for the Wednesday Novenas at the shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help National Shrine of the Redemptorist Church. Every Wednesday more or less 10,000 people from all walks of life converge at the church to attend the novena. It is without argument the most attended church in Asia. Many known celebrities who are devotees to Our Lady of Perpetual Help do come at Tuesdays nights to avoid people. Many people mistaken Baclaran as part of Pasay, it is actually part of Paranaque.
