Baguio City, the summer capital of the Philippines is targeting the Guinness World Record for most golfers gathered in an event. The 59th Fil-Am International Golf Tournament will start on November 19, 2008 and ends in December 6, 2008 in Camp John Hay and Baguio Country Club.
Last year, there are 1,200 golfers from all over the world joined the tournament. The said event just like the annual Panagbenga Flower Festival every February drew crowds and expecting to draw more this year. Filipino bowler Paeng Nepomuceno received his 3rd certificate from Guiness Book of World Records for having won the most number of bowling tournaments worldwide. His first is Guinness Record Hall of Fame for winning four World Cups in three different decades (70’s, 80’s and 90’s). His second Guinness distinction was in recognition of his feat as the youngest to win a world title at age 19. Information taken here.
